Sailing Over Jakarta
Assalammu'alaikum..
Hmm.. long time no write in this blog, but it doesn't mean no journey so far. Yeah.. just no mood yet to share even sometimes many events happened which was interesting to post *emang masih ada yg baca :D Ok, actually now i wanna read ebook bout digital signal processing, but let me start first by telling about my last friday's experience.
Friday 6.00 am
I got dress for office and watched tv. TV reported that some places in Jakarta were underwater include Cempaka Putih, my office district. Hmm.. wish not so terrible and i decided going to office as today my students would present their final projects. Waited bus at margonda's shelter.
7.15 am
I got bus and seat. At UI's shelter, dr. Rika, my office mate got the same bus and sat at the back seat. It was raining during the journey but i didnt sleep *it's little bit weird :p Two girls who sat next to me chatted and busy with mobiles. She called someone and then i understood that they wanted to stop at Cawang Tol gate to catch their friend's car. I told them to ask the driver. Luckily, the driver permitted and dropped them. I had no idea yet why they really wanted to catch their friend's car. Until...
8.30 am
Just reached Pulomas.. Some parts of road were already underwater. Bus moved slowly and then the situation became worst. We were trapped in terrible traffic jam. Flood was so bad here.. No car could move.. Nothing can do. Driver turned off the bus. We just stucked there.. Yes.. couple of hours.. I tried to contact some office friends. They told me that the roads around office were waist high underwater, better not come. Oh great.. I was already here.. near Cempaka Mas junction, flood subscriber area
11.00 am
Some passengers had no patience with the flood. Flood became higher and higher around us. They jumped from the bus and cleared a road fence. Actually i wanted to do the same as felt so hungry and got headache. I had no dinner last night as well as breakfast this morning. But the water was so dirty and high. I moved seat to the back near door where my friend was sitting and wished that someone sold food. Later, a man came with opak. Hmm.. no choice, we bought it. I was still hungry and it was already 12.00 pm. Suddenly, one of bus's conductor offered us to buy Nasi Bebek Goreng. No reason to refuse it as the food's hygienic. He crossed the flood just to buy food and drink for us. We enjoyed the food much
I really thanked to his kindness. More energy now to support the driver crossing the flood. As zuhr time was going on, we did salat at the bus.
2.30 pm
Cars moved slowly. Luckily, our bus is high enough so it was able to run through the flood. The bus could turn left to Jalan Suprapto. Our bus 'sailed' through the water and i saw my office was surrounded by water... So terrible.. but alhamdulillah we passed the flood and reached Senen while many cars had failed . Then bus took another way which was free from flood, no more Cempaka Mas. Finally i reached Depok at 5.00 pm! Yeah, today i had office hours at bus 134 :D
